Life: Eternity, Heaven, etc...

"A boy stood on a windy hillside, flying a kite. He continued to release the string of the kite and it went higher and higher until it was completely out of sight. One of his friends walked up and asked how he knew there was still a kite on the other end. He replied. "I know it's there I feel it tugging on the line." Like the kite, we can't see heaven with our eyes, but we feel it tugging at our souls!"-Heaven: A place you want to spend eternity! (

Are you going to Heaven? What's Heaven going to be like? Who will be in Heaven? What are we going to do in Heaven? Will we have spiritual bodies? These are just some questions I've been asked since I came to see my Heavenly Father. I decided to dedicate this site on helping answer these questions.

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth"-Genesis 1

The first question I was challenged concerning this topic was a UMM student. He asked me isn't it going to be boring if we just worship God all the time. This was asked 5 years ago, which I thought he really d idn't reall know God if he thought it would be boring. As one come to know God personally, he or she would be more excited about looking forward to worshiping God! In fact, a Bible verse comes to mind that relates to this....

"Worship God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind"

& "Offer you body as living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God"

The meaning and interpretation of the last scripture above has changed more and more as I grow to know my Heavenly Father. When I first heard this, I interpreted this as worshipping and singing to God, like what we do on Sunday mornings at "church" services. Now I interpret this as how we should use our God-given bodies for his glory, whether it's working at a job using what we've been blessed (gifts, talents, skills, etc...) with or taking care of our physical body-health wise!. We try do this 24/7 on earth, which when we go to Heaven-we'll be doing the same thing-but with our spiritual "heavenly" bodies!

  • Christians Wrong About Heaven, Says Bishop By David Van Biema Thursday, Feb. 07, 2008 from

  • "...There are several important respects in which it's unsupported by the New Testament. First, the timing. In the Bible we are told that you die, and enter an intermediate state. St. Paul is very clear that Jesus Christ has been raised from the dead already, but that nobody else has yet. Secondly, our physical state. The New Testament says that when Christ does return, the dead will experience a whole new life: not just our soul, but our bodies. And finally, the location. At no point do the resurrection narratives in the four Gospels say, "Jesus has been raised, therefore we are all going to heaven." It says that Christ is coming here, to join together the heavens and the Earth in an act of new creation..."

  • ...Fortunately, we don't have to rely on the Weekly World News for our "heavenly information." The Bible tells us a few things about heaven. Like:
    * We all long for heaven (Philippians 3:20).
    * We must believe in Jesus to get there (John 3:16).
    * We each have a "heavenly home" waiting for us, prepared by Jesus himself (John 14:2).
    * We will go to heaven as soon as we die (Luke 23:43).
    * We will get new bodies when we go to heaven (2 Corinthians 5:1-4).
    * We will see God face to face in heaven (1 John 3:2).
    * We will not sin in heaven (Revelation 21:27).
    * We will experience no more death, no more pain, no more sadness, no more tears (Revelation 21:4)
Heaven Is . … The Bible tells us there are streets of gold and that heaven's just this amazing place. I don't think we can even imagine what it's like because we can only think of it in a material way. I think it's going to be so much greater than we can even dream of.
I don't think we can know exactly what heaven's going to be like, but I know it's going to really nice. I know that the minute I see it, I'll be so overcome with awe, I'll just worship God. I can't wait to see all my relatives who were Christians, people I never knew. I think that's going to be so cool.
These are just a few highlights. There are more Scriptures about heaven, far too many to cover here.
And of course, countless stories and poems and songs and hymns ..."

It seems everyone has focused on the negative so much we are actually distorting the message of the gospels and why Jesus even came. We have portrayed an angry God that wants to destroy most of His creation and this just isn't true. Even Jesus said I came not to judge the world but to save it."

Heaven & Hell Near Death Experiences (NDE)

"Watching an 11 year old boy talk about what he saw and heard after being run over by his Daddy's farm tractor sparked my interest in Near Death Experiences. I remember watching him describe floating out of his body, and entering a white light filled with total love, and seeing and talking with Jesus.
He went on describing what he saw and heard while in the presence of Jesus.
But the thing that convienced me and made me realize that there must be something real about NDE's is when the boy told his mom that Uncle Bob said hello. His mother looked stunned when she heard that! She said that Uncle Bob had died 10 years before the boy was born, and that she had never told him anything about his Uncle Bob!
Ever since hearing the boy tell about his NDE I've watched other people from around the world share simliar stories about what they experience at death.
Some scientists are trying to laugh this off by saying NDE's are just hallucinations from a brain under tremendous stress from injury and trama. But what these scientists are helpless to explain is how these NDE people can re-call and describe in vivid details what they saw and heard while laying dead in the hospital. They shock the doctors with exact details of what the monitoring machines displayed while connected to their body! Many people who have had NDE are able to accurately describe what family members were wearing and talking about even though they were not allowed in the room where the body was being given electrical shocks to try and restart the heart and breathing. • Near-death experience: A glimpse of the afterlife?- AN APPLE A DAY By Tyrone M. Reyes, M.D. (The Philippine Star) Updated November 03, 2009 12:00 AM

  • "As death approaches, for many people, mortal fear gives way to a strangely serene state of mind. They believe that they are having out-of-body experiences, encountering people who are dead, entering tunnels and seeing mystical bright lights. Popularized in numerous books, movies, and television shows as proof of an afterlife, these kinds of near-death experiences (NDEs) are, nonetheless, real clinical phenomena, which can be explained as either psychological events, physiological changes in the brain, or spiritual experiences.
Throughout history, there’s been a fascination with the transition from what’s known in this life to what may lie beyond. So stories about strange events in the borderland between life and death are hardly new. Over two millennia ago, in the Republic, Plato recounted a gravely wounded soldier’s journey toward “a straight light like a pillar, most nearly resembling a rainbow, but brighter and purer.” Near-death experiences aren’t fresh to popular literature, either. Thirteenth-century monks wrote of a farmer who returned from the edge with tales of “corridors of fire” and “icy” paths to the afterlife.
Until recently, however, these experiences were usually dismissed as hallucinations or after-the-fact inventions. Many who were convinced they had glimpsed an afterlife were afraid to describe their experiences for fear of being labeled crazy. The medical community’s perception of these reports began to change in 1975 when Raymond Moody published Life After Life, a book that coined the term near-death-experience to describe this hard-to-define phenomenon. Moody interviewed 150 near-death patients who reported vivid experiences (flashing back to childhood; coming face-to-face with Jesus Christ). He found that those who had undergone NDEs became more altruistic, less materialistic, and more loving....

    Hear Us From Heaven

"God dropped the idea for this video into my head a few weeks ago. The song is "Hear Us From Heaven" by Jared Anderson. I used some clips from The Passion as well as some images from Bound 4 Life. These images are from silent prayer sieges al over the nation. The prayers also come from the Bound 4 Life website. The main verses for this video are: Before I formed you in your mother's womb I knew you. Before you were born I set you apart. I appointed you a prophet to the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5) If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14) Jesus, I plead your blood over my sins and the sins of my nation. God, end abortion and send revival to America. Not only America, Lord, but let a fire of revival and repentance be set ablaze across all the countries and continents of this earth. Check out"

"Eternity is a powerful evangelistic production that emphasizes the truth about Heaven and Hell and the unconditional love of Christ. It shows through flashback sequences how the choices we make here on earth determine our ultimate destinies. People are able to see themselves on the stage and relate to what the characters are feeling. They can relate to what the character's struggles are and see that there is a way out. Because people's hearts are so open to receive the Gospel, there has never been a better time to reach your community.
Eternity is a ministry that has seen thousands come to know the knowledge and saving power of Jesus Christ. They have responded to the Gospel message and out of repentance, a spirit of brokenness, and the true conviction on sin. There has been testimony after testimony after testimony of marriages restored, people healed, and lives rededicated to the purpose and call of Jesus Christ. Cities, communities, and churches are left with an awesome passion for the extension of God's Kingdom, knowing that God has done something eternal in their midst. "
